The first time the Doctor came around Alex was sitting underneath a tree watching kids her age play on a jungle gym, napping. The warmth of the summer sun sang through the clusters of leaves and branches. A sense of tranquility left her soul heavy and her mind light when a soft thud awoke her from her sleeping.
Occupying the other side of the tree was a man. Adorned in a long white coat, he sat with his head in his hands.

I would like to address a disturbing trend I’ve seen in stories posted online.
That is, the proclivity of rape (or sexual molestation) in stories.
Rape is not edgy. Rape is not “dark” or cool. Rape is not a clever way to allow your character to have sex without making them seem slutty. Rape does not make your character more interesting, or stronger, or weaker, or whatever the disturbing line of “reasoning” behind a poor concept for a story.
It is a horrible, heinous violation of both the mind and body. People do not suffer through it and then go on to live out the rest of their lives happily ever after. It can take

This month is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
As a supporter, I decided to create this video and include Alex since she was a victim of this kind of abuse.
It's for all survivors of sexual abuse.
