It was inspired by (maybe even loosely loosely based on) the real life brutal murder of James Bulger, a murder that still haunts and rattles the U.K. (the film though is less violent).
It's an independent film, so don't expect any big budget tropes, but it's interesting. The film garnered much controversy on its subject matter. Many people who remember the real life murder were offended by it.
Anyway, the film itself does not bring this issue to light, but based on some recent research, it was possibly a case of budding paedophilia, at least according to this. www.pressawards.org.uk/userfil…

This utterly disgusts me. It amazes me how in this day and age, something like this can still happen, even in a predominantly white small town community. The fact that even the adults encouraged such behaviour is outrageous. I just don't understand the ignorant mindset of the human race.

Vent Art
After discussing this with my staff, I’ve decided to create a Vent Art folder, a place for our deviants to vent their emotions and express themselves.
I have thought about including a folder for art that lets survivors vent their emotions. As a survivor myself, I tend to express my pain through my art as well.
Our group had, once upon a time, accepted submissions like this but due to the fact that some submissions were off-topic and spammed the group with unrelated material, we've been stricter on what submissions to accept regarding these themes.
