Deviation Actions
Within the last several weeks, this group has received an influx of new members. First of all, welcome! Second, there's a small group announcement that all new and old members should know about.
As plenty of you may be aware of, we have had some problems in the past with spam—submissions that were unrelated to what this group stands for, in this case, raising awareness of sexual abuse.
I have discussed these matters with the original group founder Queen-Asante and this has now been taken care of.
Submissions are no longer automatically approved. They must be voted on by two admins.
Any off-topic art (deviations that have nothing to do with sexual abuse and the fight against it) will automatically be declined.
Concerning submissions of our group mascots: From now on, we will only be accepting submissions of Abbi and Alex that are strictly sexual abuse related art. Please keep material that is more heavily fan-related to mainly Ed Edd n Eddy groups only. Check out some of these groups through our affiliates on the front page.
It has also come to my attention that some submissions are not always clear on how they are related to our group, whether it be the artwork itself, the title, etc. This is okay. The theme of abuse does not have to be so blatantly obvious.
However, it would help our admins out greatly if there is a brief description below your submission that can let us know your art is related to our group, especially if this is not already entirely clear by the artwork itself. This way, your work can be approved much quicker. For example, if you want to submit a drawing of an original character who is/was abused and the subject of abuse isn't clear through the illustration, something as simply worded as ''this character is a survivor of abuse'' says enough for us to approve it.
If there are any further questions or suggestions, don't hesitate to ask.
Just remember: Please read our rules on the front page carefully before submitting.

The Strange Lady
You mock her humiliation, you don’t have to feel her shame
Every day in so much emotional turmoil and pain
This life doesn’t feel good for anyone
Sex for drugs
All the time feeling like a worthless bug
You duck your head, don’t look anybody in their eyes
I am lucky
I’ve hung on to vestiges of my stinging pride
Lucky that I don’t stare out of hollow dead eyes
Some of us have been so used
From years of getting wasted and abused
That theres nothing left inside
No joy, no self esteem, no pride
A hollow core
That the world ignores
Cast down on the street as filth and denounced as whores
Sexual Abuse Awareness Contest
Greetings,
~lizziebydesign (https://www.deviantart.com/lizziebydesign) has asked us to promote their contest to this group. They are holding a contest supporting the empowerment of sexual violence survivors - trying to break the stigma.
Feel free to refer to their journal for more details:

Idaho rape/racism/intolerance case

This utterly disgusts me. It amazes me how in this day and age, something like this can still happen, even in a predominantly white small town community. The fact that even the adults encouraged such behaviour is outrageous. I just don't understand the ignorant mindset of the human race.

Little Monsters (2012)
A really interesting film I recently watched, and I would like to share. Available here: http://vidshark.ws/vv.php?Id=cc03ae806f84740b24b2e3dfb37209a1
It was inspired by (maybe even loosely loosely based on) the real life brutal murder of James Bulger, a murder that still haunts and rattles the U.K. (the film though is less violent).
It's an independent film, so don't expect any big budget tropes, but it's interesting. The film garnered much controversy on its subject matter. Many people who remember the real life murder were offended by it.
Anyway, the film itself does not bring this issue to light, but based on some recent research, it w
